The village of Pieterburen is mainly known worldwide for the 'Zeehondencreche' or Seal Care Centre, for 'wadlopen' or mudflat hiking, and for the start of the longest hiking route in the Netherlands, the Pieterpad.
But if you plan to stay here for a longer time, you will discover that there is a lot more to do, for instance: theatre performances and concerts in the numerous country churches, artists you can visit at their homes, museums that inform you of the battle against the sea, winter 'wadlopen' or mud flat hiking, and what about a snake around your neck or a goat to milk or if you're thirsty a choice of 300 different teas?..........and much, much more.
